Having an artistic temperament, I dedicated the first 33 years of my life to acting. It wasn't until I met my husband and borrowed his old film camera that I left the stage for the hypnotic click of the camera. I discovered that creating images is a wonderful way to start a conversation- and as a Southerner, this is one of my favorite pastimes. I delight in thoughtful dialogue that encourages us to see the world from new and unconventional perspectives. For me, art is a bridge- a way to explore ideas, share stories, and learn from a unique viewpoint of others.
For over 15 years, I've been working as a fine art photographer blending mixed media elements with my photographs. I also use alternative photographic processes like the cyanotype. I've been honored to receive artist grants from the Bush Foundation and North Dakota Council on the Arts which have afforded me the opportunity to grow as an artist through attending workshops and residencies.
My work has been published in art magazines and journals including the album cover for the University of Notre Dames Concordia Choirs, "From Which Your Laughter Rises". I've shown in galleries throughout the United States and in Europe. Home is Savannah, Georgia.
