Artist Statement

My work is inspired by history, femininity, and the landscape of the American south. Using the camera, I
incorporate all three of these elements to create photographs that have an ethereal feel. During the editing
process, I superimpose images of women over photographs of old wallpaper, sometimes from historic locations.
I also enjoy working with the cyanotype process, which is the first form of photography. I love to explore the flora
of the southeast and use the plants I find to create work using this alternative process.
My sincerest hope is to invoke a sense of wonder, delight, and a bit of mystery in my art.
